Checkpoint 11
This post marks a new cycle for me. New website, new circumstances.
Now, I'm pretty excited about the new look and I intend on posting an article about the technical journey experienced with this redesign. But before getting down to bidness, I want to share a small recurring insight about effort and priorities.
On getting there
Don't be a hippie, set goals and do your best to meet them. But value your time and be realistic: prioritize and choose. The meaning of a goal lies within reaching it, and if something is not worth being taken seriously, it's probably not worth doing at all.
Following through something that you like the idea of, but actually don't, is virtually impossible. It will just end up in a lot of stress and ultimately waste of time.
Also, when pursuing something of material nature, a fundamental mistake is confusing a goal for a starting point—it's an ending. Cheating your way through it might disappointingly decrease its value and lessen its meaning. I know it's old school thinking, but keep it in mind; at least before you rush into catching Santa on the spot.
Time travel is surprisingly a good analogy. The faster you move, the faster time flies. Time travelling to the next century would have taken you one century further, but you will know little or nothing of the previous.
Acknowledge the 24/7 you've been dealt. Because learning to know your limits might just be more advantageous than exploiting them; in the long run, at least.
Incidentally, this also partially applies to both development and entrepreneurship.
